<p>Cancer is a slow disease. Cancer is often called a slow death owing to the pain and reduction in life expectancy of the patient. Science has been actively searching for alternative therapies to fight cancer. One such alternative therapy is the green blood. This therapy has been proven effective to fight early stages of blood cancer. The best part being one need not visit any hospital for this treatment; you can do it yourself at home.</p>
<p>You need some wheat grains that are soaked in water and then tied up in a cloth so that they develop sprouts. You will need 7 small pots or baskets for growing this wheat. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many of us have heard the proverb, prevention is better than cure. However the question is how many of us actually follow this proverb? Every individual knows that 90% of the diseases can be prevented, if adequate measures are taken. However most of them tend to ignore this thinking that they haven’t contracted the disease yet.</p>
<p>One needs to understand that maintaining proper hygiene is the first step of preventing diseases. We travel and interact with many people in our day to day life; however we should develop a habit of washing our hands regularly before we eat our food. Our palms can be breeding grounds for germs considering the fact that we perspire a lot and we touch so many objects that might be infected with microorganisms. One should also follow the habit of covering the mouth and their nose when they sneeze or cough. This will prevent the spread of microbes through aerial route. It is important to wash your hands after you have sneezed or coughed. There are several dry hand-washes that are available in the market for these purposes.</p>
<p>Diseases can spread through contaminated water and contaminated food too. One should insist on drinking boiled water only. It is recommended that one carries a bottle of water while traveling. In case you have depleted the water from water bottle, it is best to buy the bottled water from a pharmacy or a super market. Fleas and mosquitoes sit on uncovered food.</p>

Diseases like AIDS, Cancer, leukemia etc are on prowl. Humans found treatment for diseases like tuberculosis, malaria, measles, diphtheria etc which were earlier considered to be fatal. Probably we may be able to find treatment for AIDS or cancer in future.</p>
<p>It is important that when an individual contracts a particular disease, he or she visits the medical practitioner and undergoes all the requisite tests to help the doctor diagnose the cause of the disease. Once your Medical practitioner has diagnosed the cause, the type and the severity of the disease; he will provide you with medicines and injections that may be required to cure the disease.</p>
<p>One must complete the course of medicines and should never leave the treatment half done. It is very common for patients to stop taking the medicines, as soon as they feel better. One needs to ensure that they complete the course because only then the medicine will be capable of eliminating all the bacteria and viruses that caused the disease.</p>

Cancer is a condition where the cells of the body are no more regulated by the body. They grow out of proportion and start attacking the other cells surrounding them. This is the start of the cancer. Cancer occurs when cell of the body undergo mutations and start attacking the body itself.</p>
<p>Cancer is of various types. Blood cancer is the cancer that infects the blood, whereas lung cancer infects the lungs, testicular cancer is prominent in men and breast cancer is prominent in women. One needs to understand that cancer is a slow death. The initial symptoms may take considerable time to show up. Self examination is the best way of observing any changes in the body. Doctors strongly recommend women above the age of 25 years old to develop a habit of checking their breasts for any nodes or lumps in their breasts. If they observe even a slightest of lump they should seek medical intervention. The same holds true for men, they should look out for any uneven enlargement of testicles. If they notice any lump or pain in the loin region then they should seek medical intervention too.</p>
<p>Cancer can be controlled in initial stages and the doctors can increase the life expectancy by certain years. Cancer can occur at any age. It is really slow.</p>

In order to control you food cravings, it is important to know how they actually work. Food cravings are nothing but your body’s signal telling you consume sugars or carbohydrates. This craving is usually set off when the hormone Serotonin level reduces in your system. Other hormonal imbalances like resistance to insulin also contribute to cravings. Most of the time, cravings don’t indicate a real need to have food but just a little boost to bring your Serotonin levels back up. Here are a few ways that you can control your cravings:</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;">1.</span> <span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;">Don’t skip breakfast as this is known to increase day time food cravings due to lack of energy. <p>Itâ€™s that time of the year again, the New Year is upon us and 2011 is  here. This is the time for New Yearâ€™s resolutions and new beginnings.  Thereâ€™s no better time than right now to make a commitment to improve  many areas of your life-from finances to spirituality to your health.  When it comes to improving your health, many people focus entirely on  physical fitness and appearance. While this is important, I would argue  that it is far more important to focus on nutritional fitness, because  that is what will insure you will be healthy in the long run.</p>
<p>If we want to be nutritionally fit in 2011 and beyond, there is a basic  principle we need to understand; our bodies are made up of 70% water,  therefore, what we put into our bodies should be 70% from water-rich  sources. What do I mean by â€œwater-richâ€ sources? Well, of course  water itself is important, but make sure it is from a fresh source.  Distilled water is best.</p>
<p>Aside from water itself, water-rich foods come mostly from fresh fruits  and vegetables. Eating a good variety of fresh fruits and vegetables  daily will insure that you get the vitamins and minerals necessary to  nourish the trillions of cells in your body and provide you the energy  and vibrancy to accomplish all your other goals. The challenge in  attaining nutritional fitness is that the average person only eats about  15% water-rich foods. So, this will require some simple changes in  behavior to accomplish.</p>
<p>First, limit or eliminate your intake of junk foods like cookies and  potato chips, and sodas like Coke or Sprite. Replace them with fresh  fruits for snacks and freshly squeezed juices for drinks. Ideally, drink  fresh fruit and vegetable juices from a home juicer. Second, eat a  fresh salad with every meal, no exceptions. If you implement these 2  small changes, you will benefit tremendously with a greatly improved  level of nutritional fitness.</p>

There are certain incidences that pose circumstances where a doctor  should be called including fever, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, bumps  and bruises, and colds.</p>

<p>Normally fevers can be treated with over-the-counter medications, but  certain patients such as those with compromised immune systems, should  call the doctor and seek medical care immediately. Examples of at risk  individuals include:<br />
* Patients with HIV or AIDS<br />
* Individuals being treated for cancer<br />
* Elderly people who may have a severe illness<br />
* Patients who take medications for chronic inflammation conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis.</p>
<p>Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea</p>
<p>Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea cause discomfort to majority of people  and the biggest concern is fluid loss leading to dehydration. Infants,  children, and the elderly with medical conditions are at higher risk for  dehydration. It is important to call the doctor right away if any of  the following symptoms occur:<br />
* Not urinating for more than 8 hours<br />
* Not producing tears<br />

<p>Majority of bumps and bruises heal with the RICE method: rest, ice,  compression, and elevation. It is important to call the doctor if an  injury is becoming worse and a more serous condition is suspected.</p>
<p>Colds</p>
<p>Colds are annoying illnesses that occur in many individuals throughout  the year, more often during the fall and winter seasons. Their annoying  symptoms such as cough, runny nose, and headache interfere with normal  activities. Most of the time colds can be treated with rest and  over-the-counter medications. Call a healthcare provider if symptoms are  worsening and a more serious illness is suspected.</p>
<p>The important thing is to watch the individual suffering from sickness  and note major symptoms that warrant a call to the doctor.</p>

<p>The word nutrition has gained a new meaning over the past several years.  Energy drinks, protein bars, vitamin water, have all become the new  nutrition staples. Nevertheless, Americans are more overweight than  ever, with heart disease, strokes and high blood pressure being at their  all time high. We need to revisit the basic nutrition requirements and  follow the recommendations of dieticians as they relate to daily food  consumption.<br />
Below are the fundamental nutritional guidelines.<br />
â€¢	Drink water. Our bodies are largely made up of water and staying  hydrated is essential to our health. Sugary beverages, such as pop,  juice, energy drinks and iced teas do not replace water. Vitamin water,  Gatorade, PowerAde and the like are also very high in sugar and  calories. What happened to drinking plain water? It flushes our systems,  it hydrates us and it gives us energy.<br />
â€¢	Watch the carbohydrates. Americans are notorious for consuming  refined carbohydrates, such as white pasta and white bread, cookies,  muffins and biscuits. These are high in calories and low in fiber.  Replacing white bread and noodles with whole wheat noodles and skipping  pastries and biscuits altogether will improve metabolism and digestion  and help people get full faster and stay at a healthy weight.<br />
â€¢	Dessert is a luxury. Bottom line is, it is not only unnecessary, but  also not ok to have dessert every day. Cake and ice cream should be  reserved for special occasions. Most desserts provide no nutritional  value and are high in fat, sugar and calories. Consuming fat-free  yogurt, natural pudding and fruit is a better option.<br />
â€¢	Consume a combination of lean protein and complex carbohydrates at  every meal. Lean protein include chicken and turkey breast, pork  tenderloin, lean hamburger, fish and bison meat. Sorry, bacon is not  included! Complex carbohydrates are fruits and vegetables.</p>
<p>Consuming a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables daily, drinking  plenty of water and limiting simple carbohydrates, sugars and fats are  the keys to nutritional success. There are courses available also on accredited online colleges for fundamental nutritional guidelines.</p>

<p>After being pregnant for nine months and delivering your baby it is not  always easy to get your body back to the way it was before you got  pregnant. Some women never get their shape back. But you can&#8217;t expect  to get your body back in shape if you don&#8217;t try. Make sure you always  check with your doctor before getting on a regular exercise routine.  Perhaps he can give you a few exercises that you can start off doing.<br />
Don&#8217;t expect your body to get back to normal overnight. It will take  time. It could take weeks or maybe even months depending on your body.  Every woman is different and it might take your body longer to get back  to the way it was compared to another woman whose body might only take  half as long.<br />
You can start off by walking. Walking does not take much effort to do.  You can walk a few times a day if you want to. Most women like to take  their new babies for a stroll around the neighborhood. This way you are  getting your exercise while spending some time with the baby.<br />
Whatever you decide will be your exercise routine, you will always need  to have a well-balanced diet to go along with it. If you&#8217;re looking to  get your body back, stay away from the junk. Have healthy snacks if you  get hungry in between meals. Fresh fruits and vegetables are a good  snack and easy to take on the go. Make sure you are drinking plenty of  water also. It is especially important to watch what you eat while  breastfeeding. Take time and plan your meals if you can.<br />
Most importantly, don&#8217;t overdo it. You must remember to relax and take  it easy when possible and get plenty of rest. Your baby is depending on  you so only do what you can. We also have many online degree programs, for those who are interested to learn more on pregnancy and baby care.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As with all New Year&#8217;s resolutions, most center around quitting smoking, eating healthier and getting fitter. All very commendable goals to be sure. It is a sad fact that most resolutions peter out after a few weeks.</p>
<p>With the stress and strain of daily living over best plans seem to falter year after year and I have often wondered why this is so and how we can avoid it. The answer seems plain enough. We need to de-stress and un-clutter our lives so we can take the time to really enjoy living and then maybe we would be able to keep those lofty ideals of eating healthier and getting fitter.</p>
<p>This got me to thinking about the things that stress us and cause us so much grief.  Work responsibilities and financial woes.  We work harder and harder to buy more and more and the end result is that we are exhausted and financially strapped.  The solution must be to solve these two problems in order to get ahead and learn to be happy.</p>
<p>I set about on this mission and the first thing I did was cancel all my existing store and credit cards and replace them with a <a href="http://www.visionprepaid.com/">vision prepaid</a> card.  With one simple and flexible card I could handle all my finances and it made my household accounting easier to manage.  I then set about paying off my debt and found a smaller house and an easier job. Sure the job paid less, but with the smaller house and lack of debt, I leaned to live with less instead of more.</p>
<p>Now a year later and facing the new year ahead, I am finally able to be free enough to follow my dreams and enjoy life.  This year I will eat healthier and get fitter.  I am more relaxed and the resolutions now seem a fun exercise rather than a formidable challenge. Try it and you may just turn your life around too.</p>

However, if you want to keep yourself on track, you have to avoid the excuses and just do it.  You have to step away from social networking on your <a href="http://www.macscitech.org/choosing-the-best-family-computer.htm" target="_blank">hp laptop</a> or watching your favorite shows on your television and start a healthy program.  There are a few ways to keep yourself from making those excuses. In time, the results of those workouts will be your motivation. In the meantime, you have to avoid sabotaging yourself.</p>
<p>The first way is to put it in the schedule. Don&#8217;t try to fit it in on a  busy day when carpool demands, practices are happening, and you have a  ton of errands. Schedule it on days when you have a little bit of free  time. Consider it as time for yourself instead of a workout. Don&#8217;t use  the word &#8220;workout.&#8221; Just the word &#8220;work&#8221; places the scheduled exercise  time in a bad light. Find a constructive and appealing phrase when you  write it down on the schedule.</p>
<p>The second is to find an exercise partner. Someone who has basically the  same goals but won&#8217;t accept the excuses. You want someone with the same  goals because exercising with someone who is already fit is  demoralizing. They are way ahead of you and it will hurt trying to keep  up. Someone who is not quite at your fitness level will not provide you  the exercise you need to reach your goals.</p>
<p>If you don&#8217;t have the exercise partner or can&#8217;t find one, schedule  regular appointments with a personal trainer. You are less likely to  avoid canceling an exercise session when you have money invested. With  all of the excuses not to exercise, you have to take direct action to  put a regular exercise routine in your life. The biggest thing you can  do is to make yourself accountable for working out.</p>

A pedometer is a small device that you attach to your shoe, your ankle, your hip or some other part of your body depending on the model. Every time you take a step, your pedometer is going to keep count, and so at the end of the course of a day you will have an accurate count of how many steps that you walked in that day. <p>Put on a pedometer and try it out for a few days. Every day, look at the end count before resetting it for the next day. How many steps are you walking? <p>We often must realize that we can no longer care for our elderly relative without help.   We may have already made the transition from caring for a parent to having someone provide home care.   Sometimes their health is bad enough that it will require a nurse to be available around the clock to ensure they have proper medical care.  This would require placement in a nursing home.  Or it might be a situation where they only need help with daily activities and minor health issues which means that they would be fine in an<a href="http://assisted-living.aplaceformom.com/articles/choosing-assisted-living/"> assisted living</a> facility.  No matter what the situation might be, we will realize soon enough that the cost will not be an easy thing to swallow.  But is this cost really as bad as we think it is?  Let’s take a look and find out.</p>
<p>The cost that we will pay for care depends on the medical situation of our elderly relative.  Just having someone provide home care a few days out of the week is not going to cost as much as skilled nurses at a nursing home which could run as much as ten thousand a month.  But we also have to look at more than just the medical costs.  Living at home costs more than just a mortgage or rent.  There are utilities, groceries, and maintenance just to name a few.  And if your senior parent is unable to do these things for themselves – which they probably are – then you have to add the expense of help on top of that.  And if you shop for groceries and run errands, well then that is a cost you bear as well.  When you take into account all that is offered and the peace of mind you get knowing that your parent is taken care of, then I think you will see that the value is much more than it costs.</p>
